don’t be confused – the translated name ‘Sugar Plus’ is a bit unfortunate, as Isomalt does not contain any sugar(!)
Isomalt is a sugar-free alternative for biscuit and cookie centres and for really eye catching cake decorating applications
sets to a semi-transparent finish resembling stained glass
‘clear’ refers to fact that no colour is added – this will NOT set crystal clear, especially if any humidity is present – colorless Isomalt can be coloured with care
use by pouring and setting, with moulds or with spun and pulled sugar techniques
add approx 10ml water per 500g Isomalt for a dry hand-worked paste more suited to blown or spun sugar work techniques
heat on the hob, in the oven or microwave
pre-tempered so it can be easily melted in the microwave
Isomalt is a sugar substitute produced by treating sugar beet with enzymes
WARNING – not suitable for children to use – Isomalt has a melting point of around 145°C – 150°C and exceeds 180°C in a microwave – please exercise caution as serious burns are possible – additional information on pack
